At the Planet Mindfulness Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves access to tools that support their mental and emotional well-being. While our events and offerings are open to all, we are intentional about serving underserved communities—especially Black and Brown communities—because these are the communities most often left out of wellness spaces.

Mental Health Support Shouldn’t Be a Privilege
Mental health services are widely underutilized in Black and Brown communities—not because the need isn’t there, but because access, trust, and cultural understanding are often missing. Many face barriers such as high costs, limited providers, systemic discrimination, and lingering stigma around mental health care. As a result, countless individuals navigate stress, anxiety, and trauma without support.
We believe mindfulness is a free mental health resource that lives within all of us. It’s not a replacement for therapy or professional care—but it’s a powerful practice that can help us build awareness, self-compassion, and resilience. The challenge is that many of us were never taught about it.
Reclaiming Inner Tools Through Education
Mindfulness has roots in ancient wisdom traditions across the globe—including African, Indigenous, and Eastern practices. But in the West, it’s often been stripped of its depth, commodified, or presented in ways that feel exclusive or disconnected from lived experiences.
For many, the idea of meditation or stillness is met with resistance—sometimes due to cultural beliefs or religious teachings that frame it as taboo. We acknowledge this with deep respect. Our approach is not about asking anyone to abandon their faith or traditions, but to explore inner stillness as a universal tool for well-being that transcends systems and labels.
Creating Space for Collective Healing
Our goal is to make mindfulness feel familiar, safe, and accessible. We do that by hosting free community events, partnering with wellness providers of color, and creating spaces where people can breathe, reflect, and reconnect without pressure or judgment.
Healing doesn’t always have to look clinical. It can sound like a singing bowl. It can feel like the warmth of community. It can start with a deep breath taken with intention.
This is why we do what we do.
At the Planet Mindfulness Foundation, we’re not just sharing mindfulness—we’re reclaiming it, restoring it, and bringing it back to the communities that need it most.
